The Lithuanian company Inion Software, which specialises in innovative renewable energy solutions, recorded a successful first half of 2025, with sales revenue increasing by 22%. From January to June this year, the company’s revenue reached €592,000, compared to €484,000 during the same period last year.
Inion Software CEO Dr Šarūnas Stanaitis attributes this strong performance to the continued growth in the number of users installing solar and wind power plants and using smart energy storage systems.
‘The trend among users to install solar and wind power plants, as well as adopt smart batteries (energy storage systems), remains strong in Lithuania and across Europe. Consequently, there is naturally growing demand for the digital tools and systems we develop, which ensure smooth energy flow management and help maximise returns for renewable energy producers and storage facilities,” says Dr Stanaitis.
The Inion Software CEO also emphasises that another important driver of the company’s growth is the increasing focus on cybersecurity for energy infrastructure.
He notes that, in 2024, the Lithuanian Parliament adopted legal amendments requiring all newly built power plants and storage systems to implement cybersecurity measures by 1 May 2025. This requirement will also apply to previously built solar and wind power plants and parks by 1 May 2026.
“Interest in our systems is constantly growing – companies turn to us because what we offer meets all current requirements, ensuring both efficient energy flow management and top-level security,” says Dr Stanaitis.
In 2024, Inion Software achieved record sales of EUR 1.2 million – the highest result since the company was founded. However, expectations for this year are even higher, especially as recent market forecasts remain optimistic.
‘According to SolarPower Europe, global solar energy installation volumes are expected to grow by around 10% this year, with annual installed capacity potentially reaching approximately 655 GW. This gives us good reason to believe that demand for our services will remain strong, enabling us to continue investing in improving our current energy management solutions and developing new products that benefit the entire renewable energy market,” adds Dr Stanaitis.
Inion Software’s management systems for renewable energy and storage manufacturers are already gaining significant trust across Europe, with an increasing number of large-scale projects using them.
For example, Inion Software and its partners recently finished the second stage of a solar power plant project involving energy storage systems for the Švyturys–Utenos alus brewery. The largest energy storage system in Lithuania was installed during this phase, using Inion Software’s proprietary storage control system.
Inion Software’s solutions are also gaining popularity outside of Lithuania. In 2024, the company began to expand more actively in Italy, collaborating with local companies to deploy energy storage systems integrated with its own control technology.
